Varicose vein is a vascular disease of the veins most commonly seen in the lower limbs. The fact that we have'nt ever realised is that 95 % of the joint diseases do not require surgery. Any kind of inflamation associated with or without pain in joints are called as Arthritis. Among the types of arthritis, the commonly seen are - Osteo-arthritis, Rheumatoid arthritis, Gout arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis and Septic arthritis. Dificiencies in vitamins & minerals especially calcium and vitamin-D can also lead to certain joint diseases. There are few viral diseases that affect the immunity, cause weekness and debilitate the joint function like chikungunia. Joint deformity caused over a period of time either due to excess wear and tear or as a result of chronic degenerative joint diseases may require surgical intervention to restore mobility. Therefore in such cases partial or total joint replacement are recommended. Majority of the cases who are recommended with Joint replacement surgery are Osteo arthritis or AVN sufferers. Osteo- arthritis is a degenerative joint disease. Avascular necrosis is a degenerative disease that affect the hip joints.The bone tissue in the head of the femur degenerates and dies due to the lack of blood supply in them and collapse into the joint socket. This problem developes in the later periods due to trauma, happened in the past that had affected the hip. This may also develope as an after effect of prolonged or higher dosage of steroid medication. Usually Partial / total Hip Joint Re-placement or core decompression surgery are the procedure recommended depending on the degree of damage occured. Diabetes can cause nerve damage and poor circulation, especially if a person has difficulty managing blood sugar levels. This can lead to foot ulcers, blisters, pain, and foot infections. The combination of sensory and motor peripheral neuropathies results in uneven foot pressure load and poor gait. Over time, hyperkeratosis of the compressed skin will form a hematoma and break due to neuropathy and increased pressure load, eventually developing into an ulcer that is difficult to heal. Takayasu's disease, "aortic arch syndrome," "nonspecific aortoarteritis," and "pulseless disease is a form of large vessel granulomatous vasculitis with massive intimal fibrosis and vascular narrowing, most commonly affecting often young or middle-age women of Asian descent, though anyone can be affected. It mainly affects the aorta (the main blood vessel leaving the heart) and its branches, as well as the pulmonary arteries. Females are about 8–9 times more likely to be affected than males. Takayasu's arteritis is similar to other forms of vasculitis, including giant cell arteritis which typically affects older individuals. Due to obstruction of the main branches of the aorta, including the left common carotid artery, the brachiocephalic artery, and the left subclavian artery, Takayasu's arteritis can present as pulseless upper extremities (arms, hands, and wrists with weak or absent pulses on the physical examination).
