The Nerve pain developed after Herpes infection is called post herpetic Neuralgia- PHN. This causes intense sensation of tingling, burning and shooting pain on the affected area. The skin becomes hypersensitive and unbearable to touches as the sub-dermal nerve fibers in the affected areas are damaged by the varicella zoster virus.
